Meet Bill Bickle
Bill Bickle is the National Partner for Natural Church Development (NCD) in Canada and is responsible for the promotion and distribution nationally of the NCD Survey and print materials cross-denominationally.
Bill is a lay person who first became involved with NCD as a volunteer NCD Coach after leadership positions in his local congregation. The first NCD book Bill read was The 3 Colors of Love by Christian A. Schwarz, and he was convinced from there that developing churches naturally makes complete sense when viewed through Scripture, the history of the Church, and logically. Bill loves the Church and is passionate about seeing it become healthier – one person, one group, and one congregation at a time. He has seen the proof that small and large, urban and rural, and modern and traditional churches are all part of God’s plan, and that it is a great honour to serve in the Canadian Church in this way.
He grew up in a very small rural congregation where his ancestors gave the land, worshiped in a large inner-city setting where he came to faith in Christ, and now worships in a medium-sized, small town church. He met his wife Marnie at church in Toronto and now they live in Port Hope. They renovated Bill’s 170 year old family home 2010 and moved in that September.
Bill is the president of Fordelm Inc., a marketing and growth consultancy for non-profits and faith-based organizations.
Bill brings his business background and education in marketing and organizational behavior to the NCD community to grow healthier congregations. Prior to NCD, his corporate career spanned branch banking and marketing. He has a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from Queen’s and an MBA from York in Organizational Behaviour. God has gifted him, and prepared him uniquely, for taking on the NCD responsibilities.
Bill is active in product development and marketing with the leaders at NCD International, and you will see many new developments in NCD piloted in Canada. Christian Schwarz says Canada is a strategically important segment of the global Church, and we trust you will be blessed by your part in the NCD journey. We invite you to join with us in equipping the Church, growing its capacity, and helping it to become healthier and to grow. Healthy, living organisms grow, and the Canadian Church can grow despite what we hear from the misinformed and the jaded.
- Glory to God, whose power, working in us can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine: Glory to God from generation to generation in the Church, and in Christ Jesus, now and forever. Ephesians 3:20
As you grow in your relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ, and in the power of the Holy Spirit, we hope that you will find the transforming truth of this passage speaks to your heart, your mind, and your hands.
